What is FoldPrompt?
FoldPrompt is a teleprompter camera app for iPhone Duo and iPhone. You write or paste a script, and FoldPrompt shows it in a small reading window right under the front camera while you record. The text scrolls at a speed you set or follows your voice. When you stop, you can watch the take, retake it, or save it to Photos and share it.
Does FoldPrompt work on iPhone Duo?
Yes. FoldPrompt is designed for iPhone Duo. It works on the outer display when the phone is closed and on the larger inner display when it is open, and adapts its layout around the fold.
Does FoldPrompt work on a regular iPhone?
Yes. FoldPrompt runs on any iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Voice follow needs iOS 27 or later; on iOS 26, auto-scroll works normally.
Is FoldPrompt free? Does it add a watermark?
FoldPrompt 1.0 is free to download and use. It adds no watermark, needs no account, and has no subscription or ads.
Can the teleprompter follow my voice?
Yes, on iOS 27 or later. Turn on voice follow and FoldPrompt moves the script along as you speak. Speech is recognized on your iPhone, not on a server. If voice follow can't start, FoldPrompt switches to auto-scroll so your take keeps going.
Will viewers be able to tell I'm reading?
FoldPrompt puts the reading window just below the front camera, so your eyes stay close to the lens. You can resize the window and move it closer to the camera so your eyes move even less.
How do I get my script into FoldPrompt?
Type it in the editor, paste it from any app, or import a plain-text (.txt) file from Files. The editor shows the word count and an estimated reading time.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No account and no sign-up. Scripts are stored on your iPhone and FoldPrompt does not upload them. Recording, auto-scroll and saving work offline. Voice follow may need a one-time download of Apple's on-device speech files.
What video quality does FoldPrompt record?
Front or rear camera at 1080p or 4K, at 24, 30 or 60 frames per second, depending on what your iPhone supports. There is also an audio-only mode that records an M4A file.
Can I use FoldPrompt with a teleprompter glass rig?
Yes. Turn on Mirror, and use teleprompter mode for a full-screen prompter without the camera.
